Are you planning a family vacation at Walt Disney World but are concerned about leaving your furry friend behind? We have great news! Disney offers dog-friendly accommodations at four resorts on their property: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans-Riverside Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort.
Upon arrival, you and your dog will receive a Pluto’s Welcome Kit, which includes a bone-shaped mat for their bowls, a water bowl, pet waste bags, and a Disney clip for their collar. You can even take these doggy souvenirs home! Disney allows up to two dogs to stay.
Disney resorts have designated outdoor walkways and green spaces with pet relief areas. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness even have a dog park where your dog can run, play, and interact with other dogs. However, dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and vaccinated. They are not allowed in the theme parks or pools, restaurants, or shared areas of the resorts or on transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort.
Best Friends Pet Hotel may be the answer if you want to spend the whole day in the parks without worrying about your pet. They offer daycare and overnight boarding for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. Best Friends Pet Hotel also provides a daycare program where they will pick up your dog at any of the four pet-friendly hotels in the morning so that your family can spend a worry-free day at the parks. Your dog can play all day and spend time with other dogs. Then, they will drop off your dog at your resort at night once everyone returns from the parks.
It is up to each family to decide which option is best for them. Having the furriest family member in the most magical place on earth with you can make your visit to WDW 100% complete. We recommend downloading the official dog policy in the pet section of your resort information before visiting. At PixieTrips, we are happy to assist you in choosing the best option to fit your family’s needs. We can also help you make arrangements to ensure your furry friend has a ticket for the airplane ride to Orlando.
