Let's Set Sail on the Disney Wish!
In November 2023, my family and I embarked on the Disney Wish. This was my grandpa's and my first Cruise. My uncle and aunt, our travel companions, had sailed with Disney Cruise Line before and thought we would love to try it out. The Disney cast didn't fail at making it one of the most memorable experiences and went out of their way to make sure my family and I felt important and unique! From the moment we left port in Canaveral, FL, to the moment we pulled back in, Disney Magic filled the air! So, LET'S SET SAIL!!
What do I need on the morning of the Cruise?
On the morning of the Cruise, you leave your bags outside your room if you stay at a WDW resort hotel. Be sure you grab your tags for the bags at the hotel's front desk. Any WDW resort hotel will have these tags! Then, a cast member comes around to collect all the bags, but be sure to have an overnight bag with you when you board the ship! You then go down to the lobby to meet members of your cruising family for the next three days! I loved seeing all the families waiting, and I could tell that everyone was super excited about the magic that led ahead!
How Do I get to Port Canaveral?
The most memorable part about me leaving the hotel for the bus was when the cast members all said, "See ya real soon" to all of us leaving the hotel! Disney provided the transportation from our hotel to Port Canaveral. The bus ride from WDW to meet your home for a few days is about a 1hr long. Don't worry! Time goes by quickly, and monitoring on board the motorcoach makes the journey fun with Disney trivia and shorts.
What Do I need once I get to Port Canaveral?
After your bus ride to Port Canaveral, you'll meet the beautiful Disney Wish! You can't miss her! When I first met the Wish, I couldn't help but stare at her beauty! We then got off the bus, and they had us go through customs. Customs is just like security at the airport, and then you go to the terminal like you would boarding an aircraft.
Ensure you have your Magic Bands activated and on before you get to the terminal; this is your key to your room on board. They then call you by group to board the ship, and then the MAGIC happens! A cast member greeted us at the entrance of the Wish; they asked us what our last name was, and I told them, and they introduced our family to the whole ship via the PA system!! It was a special thing for me and my family. When you say about a Disney ship, the cast members will announce and welcome your family too!
Where do I go once I board the Disney Wish?
Once you and your family are aboard the Disney Wish, I recommend going to Marceline Market. Marceline Market is an all-you-can-eat buffet they serve before you leave Port Canaveral. They have comfort foods, sea food, carving stations, and a dessert bar! Disney will also ask you if anyone in your party has an allergy to any foods, and if you say "YES",don't worry—Disney will have the best accommodations for you during your Cruise. Disney has the best solutions for all dietary needs.
How do I know when my room is ready?
You need to download the Disney Cruise app on your phone. Once your rooms are ready, they'll send you a notification on your phone. Once your rooms are ready, go to your room and get ready for the set sail party!
What is the "Let's Set Sail Party?"
The Let's Set Sail Party is a deck celebration for guests of all ages! They have two bars on deck for all the adults and mocktails for the under-21 guests! (They charge you for your cocktail and mocktail.) They have dancers. Of course, Captain Minnie Mouse herself makes an appearance and a magical appearance of Mickey Mouse and the gang! Once the sound of the horn goes off, you start your magical journey to the Bahamas!
What is there to do on the Disney Wish?
The Disney Wish has so many fun activities for the family! Some of the activities include:

On the Disney Wish, you can enjoy three restaurants all three nights you are on the Wish! These restaurants are,
